The forecast for all of Vermont, and adjoining New Hampshire, New York, Quebec, and Massachusetts:

Tonight: Periods of high clouds. Lows mainly in the 20s, but a few teens northeast. Light and variable winds.

Thursday: Spells of clouds early, then becoming mostly cloudy. Remaining mild with highs from 42 to 53. East to southeast winds at around 10 mph, with localized gusts to around 15.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers possible west late. Lows from 28-38. Coolest northeast. Light winds east, but southeast winds of 5-10 mph west.

Extended Forecast:
Friday: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs in the 40s.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows 30-40.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs 41-50.
Saturday Night: Cloudy with showers likely or becoming so. Lows 32-40.
Sunday: Cloudy with showers likely. Highs in the 40s.

Mountain Forecast:
Continued sunny today, a bit breezy from the northwest, and temperatures beginning to moderate, still chilly to the northeast. Clouds will be increasing tonight into Thursday, but remain above the summits. Temperatures will moderate, and light winds will become more southerly.

March 10th's sunrise is at 6:13, and will set this evening at 5:50, extending the length of the day to 11 hours and 37 minutes.

Heavy, wet snow fell on this date in 1964. After several days with temperatures in the 50s to start the month, the heavy snow strained power lines and hampered road crews. Berlin, NH had 13 inches, West Rumney, NH 17 inches. Burlington, St. Albans, and south to Rutland had 13 inches, while Newport took the prize with 19 inches.
