| Signs of Fall 2010 |

| Autumn comes. And with it, the bill for the split hardwood. I asked Sam just to dump it, for there will soon be a cool day when I can fend of the chills doing the stacking. But in the meadow, where we walked so often this summer, the insects whine and race about, the milkweed pods are swollen, and when she comes down with the lunch box, she brings a Thermos of hot coffee instead of the Mason jar with summer's cooling lemonade. 8/30/10
